Can you feel the momentum growing?
More than an event, we are part of a movement shaping the future of pregnancy and childbirth, family and community - the entire childbirth continuum. Over the past decades, we have witnessed an increase in unnecessary and bond-severing interventions rise to damaging levels globally. Statistically, cesarian rates have increased to 30-95% across the globe (in Canada, nearly every 3rd baby is born via cesarean), with women being medically managed during their birthing experience. Most women are denied the ability to birth in trust of the physiological unfolding that their body is wired for. Placenta obtainment is a billion dollar industry that benefits pharmaceutical companies, and denies babies the most essential natural boost to their systems from the start.
This global movement is parent-led, backed by Elders who’ve been witnessing these changes, alongside OBGYNS, Nurses, Midwives, Doctors of every kind, Traditional Birth Attendants and Companions, Doulas, and a plethora of birth support persons who are advocating for change within a political climate that seeks to silence those who choose different from the medicalization of birth. We are rising, growing in numbers, and changing how women, birth workers and care providers practice and experience childbirth.
The conference is a space where we can gather and share stories, knowledge, wisdom and resources while growing the network and forming bonds with others of similar values. As we unite to learn together, we transform the birthing experience into one of strength, understanding, and profound empowerment. We believe returning the birthing journey back into the safekeeping of women and baby, families and their innate wisdom results in a more sacredly bonded family. It is these sacred threads that will continue guiding us to reclaim our evolution with nature’s inherent wisdom at the forefront.
Seeds planted
In September 2024 at the Reclaiming Birth Conference in London a seed was planted. Jessica was inspired to bring the vision of RBC to Montreal, and started calling in others who wanted to share in this vision too. Destini dove in, and together they have been nurturing these planted seeds with love and care.
Join us in this movement to bring the Reclaiming Birth Conference to Montreal to further strengthen connections and understanding, share knowledge and wisdom across various disciplines, and reclaim a depth of understanding of the sacred physiological unfolding that birth was designed as.
Reclaiming the birth experience through honouring the physiologic birth process, simultaneously awakens & enlivens our inner birth guardian.

Our speakers are passionate advocates for positive change in physiological birth, who will bring their wealth of knowledge from both traditional and modern practices to guide you through empowering sessions that will change the way you think about and approach birth.

Expect to be sustained all day starting with a light breakfast including croissants, muffins, and fruit; a nourishing warm lunch fit for those feeding two; snacks, warm teas/coffee and juicy refreshments available all day; and dessert - of course dessert!
BIRTH STORY MEDICINE
We’ve collaborated with a number of artists on a 2-part project we’ve called Reclaiming Birth Story Medicine. One part is a soul-infused, impactful art show that will be shown during the conference. The other is the opportunity to participate in workshops with these artists in the months leading up to and after the conference. Learn more about the artists and the workshops below.
